Amoruso relocated to San Francisco and powered by her love for vintage clothing, she made the decision to join ebay and start her own e-shop by the name Nasty Gal Vintage, housing the headquarters in her apartment and performing a one-woman show, spotting the clothes, photographing and copywriting before posting online. Instead of concluding her studies, she chose to start her own business. Since her early age, she has been passionate about art and exploration. Her mother Dina Kouremetis is a journalist of Greek descent. Amoruso was born in 1984 in the United States. Nasty Gal ranked among the most profitable US firms in the lists of Forbes magazine. In November 2016, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sophia Amoruso was the founder and Chairman of Nasty Gal, with sales rising to $130 million for 2012.
